Online neurotransmitter monitoring with fast capillary liquid chromatography
Goal: Continuous, fast, liquid chromatographic separations on nL samples with nM or lower quantitation for neurotransmitters.
Approach: cLC system is coupled online to in vivo microdialysis. Speed and sensitivity benefit from high temperature and pressure (Liu et al., 2010).
Results: Quantitative, continuous, online determination of serotonin and dopamine (Gu et al. 2015) in dialysate from rat brain once per minute.
